Our Story

Welcome to Manasota Monarch Designs! I’m Beth Hoffeditz, a retired 911 Emergency Telecommunications Operator with a lifelong passion for arts and crafts. After 31 years in a busy 911 center in Illinois, my husband and I made the move in 2020 to Englewood, Florida, along with my elderly mother. I’ve always had a creative spirit, working with a variety of mediums over the years, including sculpting and stained glass. About four years ago, I bought a small kiln for glass fusing and fell in love with this new-to-me medium. Following the passing of my beloved mother in late 2022, I created heart pendants infused with a tiny amount of her ashes as keepsakes for myself and my family. The heartfelt response to those pieces inspired me to begin incorporating elements of the beautiful coastal environment here in southwest Florida, such as beach sand, into my designs. The day my mom passed, as she was being taken away, a Monarch butterfly fluttered past my husband and me as we were standing in the driveway in the light of the evening sunset and I knew it was her and that she was now free. From that inspiration, the logo of Manasota Monarch Designs was born. It features a butterfly floating freely above the ocean waves with a sunset sky background and is a loving tribute to the loss of a beautiful soul and the inspiration she continues to provide. Named in honor of my mother and the vibrant beauty of this area, my creations reflect the carefree coastal lifestyle and the timeless charm of the beach. Each piece, whether jewelry or home décor, is thoughtfully handcrafted with love, care, and a touch of nature.
